Bob Monteiro is president and founder of Seal Group Associates, LLC, which was established in May 2009. Seal Group Associates LLC specializes in providing consultancy services with investigative matters, having emphasis in the pharmaceutical industry. Investigative services range from IPR and litigation support to product integrity investigations to include product diversion, counterfeiting and transportation security issues.
Mr. Monteiro has 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry where he served as a Director of Global Security for the Americas Region from 2003 through 2009.
From 1999 through 2003 Mr. Monteiro addressed security matters in the Asia Pacific Region and the Europe, Middle East and Africa Regions.
Mr. Monteiro while assigned to Pfizer’s Global Security Group was responsible for assisting with the development, implementation and management of security programs designed to protect the company’s assets; which included its personnel, products, real and intellectual property.
Additional responsibilities included working with internal business units to review, develop or enhance security protocols to protect their business operations. Areas of focus in this regard included enhancing the Standards of Care Document relative to the shipment of high value loads of pharmaceuticals through the transportation system; conducting investigations in the event of a shipment theft and working with relevant law enforcement agencies to bring these matters to a logical conclusion; as well as coordinating security for product launches or specialty meetings.
While Mr. Monteiro was assigned to the Americas Region, his primary responsibility was to address IPR related issue which focused on counterfeit and diverted product in the U.S. market. Mr. Monteiro managed the online pharmacy phase of an Internet Project designed to identify rogue Internet sites engaged in the sale of counterfeit Pfizer products. Once these sites were identified, they would either be referred to law enforcement for investigative action or pursued civilly.
Prior to joining Pfizer, Mr. Monteiro served 21 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he concluded his career as a Supervisory Special Agent. In this capacity, he served three years as a supervisor at FBI Headquarters in the Counterterrorism Section, supervising terrorist incidents within the FBI’s Latin American and Middle East Terrorism Programs.
