Brent is the owner and director of Chaleur Investigations, which is licensed in the Province of Ontario Canada as a private investigations firm. Brent is also licensed by the province of Ontario as a private investigator and obtained his licence on August 29, 2005.
Prior to becoming a private investigator, Brent was the Microsoft Canada Anti-Piracy Sr. Investigator for approximately six years and was responsible for all Canadian investigations. His primary duties as Senior Investigator included the investigation of the manufacturing, distribution and sale of counterfeit and pirated Microsoft products, as well as overseeing all SPAM and Virus investigations in Canada. He was also the primary Law Enforcement contact with regard to Hotmail and MSN issues.
Brent has assisted the RCMP, FBI, USCS, as well as other police departments in conducting investigations and the execution of over 100 criminal search warrants, both in Canada and the United States. He has also provided over 95 Law Enforcement training sessions throughout North America. Brent received training from product experts at Microsoft with respect to the various Microsoft products.
Before joining Microsoft Brent spent 24 years as a member of the RCMP, serving in both Alberta, and Ontario in a variety of duties, including International drug investigations, protection duties, Commercial crime (counterfeit money/credit card unit) Federal Enforcement duties and other general duties. At the time of his retirement he was in charge of the Newmarket Federal Enforcement Section (F.E.S).While in the RCMP, he received training in many areas of investigation, and completed the RCMP under cover training course in 1994.
